All grapes for this wine were sourced from the BioGro-certified Osawa Vineyard in the Mangatahi sub-region of Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay, with acknowledgment of the whenua as Māori and recognition of the interconnectedness between people and land as integral to Māori Whakapono (belief). 

Awatea (middle of the day, daylight) is named for the colour of the wine—a soft, diffused yellow akin to the haze of light on water as the sun ascends to its highest point. Awa meaning river, Tea meaning light in colour. Fresh, euphoric and cleansing. The wine wears its bottle ferment lees proudly, so will be naturally cloudy in appearance. Not disgorged for full natural effect so expect some excitement when opening.
